Our journalist learned from the Shanghai Expo Board that Wudang Taoist Kung Fu Mission formally signed the contract to take part in 2010 Shanghai Expo. The seventy-two stunts, the performances of Wudang Tai Chi Boxing and Tai Chi Sword will be presented on the 2010 Expo, which will be the first time that Wudang Kung Fu is on the Expo.

Wudang Taoist Kung Fu Mission will show the world a set of Kung Fu performances named “Wudang ---Tai Chi and Dao” at the 2010 Expo, which are made up by our kung fu mission members. What’s more, the performers will strengthen the interaction with the audience by on-the-spot teaching, including impart some legendary esotericas.

Compared with the famous Shaolin Kung Fu, Wudang Kung Fu is more mysterious. It is understood that Wudang Taoist Kung Fu Mission is a non-profit organization. They never joined any business performance before. This is the first time that Wudang was invited to come on the stage of the expo. In addition, this also will be the first time that Wudang Kung Fu close contact with the audience at home and abroad.
“Wudang ---Tai Chi and Dao”, which is made up by Wudang Taoist Kung Fu Mission will be shown on Shanghai Expo .There will be 3 shows everyday and 276 shows in total from July to September in 2009.Its programme combines with Taoism etiquette, and through the Wudang Taoist traditional kung fu, Taoist health qigong to explain China's Taoism culture. The kung fu performance consists of three parts: “Morning Practice in the Purple Heaven Palace”, “Tai Chi comes from Wudang” and “Wu Chi produces tai chi”.
Li Guangfu, the president of the Wudang Taoist Association, stated that there will be about 60 kung fu performers and the average age of these Kung Fu elites is 20.They all enjoy a peaceable and retired life. They practice kung fu very hard every day in the mountain, so each form and style is the crystallization of their collective wisdom and sweat. He said: “the performers will strengthen the interaction with the audience by teaching them the main aspects of tai chi.
Referring to Wudang, people naturally think of Tai chi. Practicing Tai chi boxing, tai chi sword is one way of physical fitness, and they have produced many branches.
“On the expo, the audience will see the original tai chi boxing and tai chi sword.” Li Guangfu said. Then, all sorts of tai chi forms will be presented to the audience in different ways, such as tai chi boxing, tai chi sword, kung fu fan, eight immortal cudgel, eight diagrams palms, Wudang Taiyi Wu Xing Chuan etc.
