    March 3rd of each year in the lunar calendar is the traditional Taoist festival. It is said that the God of Taoism, Emperor Zhenwu, was born on the day, so Taoism followers celebrate the day in a great occasion.
    According to the history, Wudang Taoism has held religion services on the day every year since the Song Dynasty; folk believers also came to Wudang Mountains to worship Emperor Zhenwu. So the religion service has become the Temple Fair on 3rd March. 
    The Temple Fair on 3rd March is a folk cultural activity with a strong participation among which Taoist culture, Wudang Gongfu and folk customs are combined together. During the fair, Wudang Taoism holds many religious activities of Taoist characteristics such as religion service of Fasting and Jiao, burning incense in Dragonhead Censer, baptizing keepsakes, hitting Fortune Clock and so on. There are also Wudang Gongfu performances, Wudang Tea ceremony performances, shadow plays, folk songs, lamp fair and other acrobatics which fully show the folk customs of Wudang region. 
    All Taoists, Taoism followers and traveling teams, including these from Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong and Singapore, come to Wudang Mountains to worship Emperor Zhenwu. On the day, there are full of visitors and happy tones in Wudang Mountains.
